This afternoon, I received another phone call from my recruiter.
"Do you have any customer service experience?", He asked
I hesitated. "...sure" (Does the fact that I was a bartender for 3 months about 6 years ago count as Customer Service experience? close enough, I imagine...)
"Great, I have a new assignment for you. a one week assignment as a RECEPTIONIST. It's located in Jackson Square next to the TransAmerica Building, Here's the address. Go to Suite 600 on the 5th floor."
"Um..okay. When does it start?" I asked
"8:30 tomorrow morning."
"Wow.. alright..well. Can you tell me anything about the company I'll be working for?"
"Not really. wear a business suit.."
"alright then.. "
Another mystery assignment. I just have an address and a time. It should be interesting.. considering the fact that I have absolutely zero experience as a receptionist. I'm slightly wary but intrigued at the same time. I wonder what tomorrow has in store for me.
Has anyone reading this worked as a receptionist and if so.. any pointers or tips? just answer phones and greet people with a smile..right?
Why am I so nervous then?
I guess it's time to pull off the converse again and slip back into the high heels.
I'll let you know how it goes
